We have two intermediate obedience classes this round. Both start on Monday, May 12th. We have a 4:00 class and a 7:00 class to choose from.

Please note: once class begins, payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Intermediate obedience is for dogs who have completed our beginners obedience class or a board and train and have been given the green light to move on.

What you need to know:

  • Class is 6 weeks long.

  • We meet for one hour each week.

  • Class location is about 5 minutes north of Riverside park. Address will be sent in an email.

  • Cost of this class is $200 and is due at time of registration.


Vaccinations required:

  • Rabies

  • Distemper

  • Parvovirus

  • Bordetella


You will need:

All items found at Healthy Hound or The Pet Works.

  • Training collar (no harnesses or head halters).

  • 4’ leash.

  • Long line (20’ leash).

  • Variety of soft training treats your dog likes.

  • Treat pouch.

  • Raised bed for at home, I will provide one for class.

Skills we’ll cover in class:

  • Adding more challenging distractions to the environment while practicing handler focus, sit, down, place and stay.

  • Adding distance to your stays.

  • Adding more challenging distractions to the environment while practicing loose leash walking as well as adding tight turns to this skill.

  • Adding distance and more challenging distractions to the coming when called exercise.

  • We will start “leave it” and boundary training (behavior at thresholds).

  • We will continue working on polite greetings and “finish”.

  • We will start sending to “place” from a distance.
