Beginner Obedience is our foundation -level class for dogs and handlers who are ready to build the core skills used throughout our obedience program.

Beginner Obedience 2.0 is designed for teams who have completed Beginner Obedience but aren’t quite ready to move into Intermediate. This class bridges the gap by continuing to build and strengthen the foundation skills you already know.

Advanced Obedience 2.0 is for teams who have completed Advanced Obedience and are ready to push their training even further. This class places a greater emphasis on off-leash work and maintaining reliable obedience around highly challenging distractions.

Out-of-sight stays
Advanced off-leash recalls
Longer and more challenging stays
Working at great distances from the handler
Maintaining obedience around high-level distractions

PUPPY CLASS
Start building good habits early.
Puppy Class gives young dogs and their handlers a strong start through age-appropriate training, confidence building and early exposure to the skills they’ll need as they grow.

Puppy Class combines foundation training with intentional environmental exposure. Along with learning early obedience skills, puppies are introduced to new surfaces, obstacles, objects, sounds and experiences designed to build confidence and help them learn how to navigate the world around them.

Environmental exposureAge Requirement: Puppies may begin after receiving their second round of puppy vaccinations and must be under 6 months old at the start of class.

Start with a Meet & Greet
Private Training starts with a 60 minute Meet & Greet Consultation. This gives us time to talk through your dog’s training history, your goals and the challenges you’re experiencing while giving me an opportunity to learn more about you and your dog.
We’ll also discuss my training approach, expectations and what moving forward with Private Training may look like for you.
HOW PRIVATE TRAINING WORKS
We start by figuring out where you are.
Build the skills
After your Meet & Greet, we’ll move into hands-on training sessions based on your dog’s needs and your goals. You’ll work directly with your dog while I demonstrate techniques, coach your handling and timing, and help you troubleshoot along the way.
You’ll also have clear skills and exercises to work on between sessions so we can continue building your progress each time we meet.
Behavior Modification starts differently
Behavior Modification begins with an In-Home Behavioral Evaluation rather than a standard Meet & Greet. This gives me the opportunity to evaluate your dog’s behavior in their home environment, discuss safety and management, and determine the most appropriate path forward.
If we move forward with Private Training, hands-on sessions will primarily take place at my training location, with additional in-home sessions scheduled when needed to evaluate progress or address concerns specific to the home environment.
SESSIONS & PRICING
Private Training options and rates.
Meet & Greet Consultation
60 minutes | $110
The starting point for new Private Training clients working on everyday skills and obedience. We’ll discuss your dog’s training history, your goals, current challenges and what you’d like to accomplish while determining the best path forward.
Skill Builder Session
30 minutes | $55
Hands-on training sessions focused on teaching and building the skills you and your dog are currently working toward. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly based on your training plan, progress and goals.
In-Home Behavioral Evaluation
Up to 60 minutes | $200
The starting point for dogs with more serious or complex behavioral concerns. The evaluation takes place in your home and allows me to observe and assess the behaviors you’re experiencing, discuss safety and management, and determine the most appropriate path forward.
The evaluation fee includes travel within a 30-mile round-trip radius. Travel beyond 30 miles is $2 per additional mile. If additional evaluation time is needed, it is billed per additional 30 minutes.
Fine-Tuning & Follow-Up
30 minutes | $55
Follow-up sessions for clients who have moved beyond the initial skill-building stage and are ready to fine tune their training, troubleshoot challenges and continue increasing reliability. These sessions are typically scheduled biweekly as needed.
PRIVATE TRAINING DETAILS
A few things to know before we get started.

Everyday Skills & Obedience Private Training takes place at my training location in Castle Rock, Washington.
Behavior Modification begins with an In-Home Behavioral Evaluation. If we move forward with Private Training, hands-on sessions will primarily take place at my training location, with additional in-home sessions scheduled as needed to evaluate progress or address concerns specific to the home environment.

Private Training sessions are available on weekdays and are scheduled individually based on availability. Skill Builder Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly, while Fine-Tuning & Follow-Up Sessions are generally scheduled biweekly as needed.
Because your progress depends on the work you do between appointments, session frequency may be adjusted based on your dog’s training plan, progress and goals.

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. Cash or check made payable to Klug K9 Training is accepted.
Debit cards, credit cards and cash-payment apps are not accepted.

Please do not feed your dog immediately before your appointment so they’ll be ready to work for food during training. Bring your dog’s meal along with your dog’s leash and training collar.
Dogs should remain leashed and under control when arriving for their appointment. Please do not allow your dog to exit your vehicle off leash.
